Where can it be found? It can be found along Eastern US coastline and around Caribbean Islands.

Is it poisonous? Yes. However, there are no reports that the lionfish are life threating species.

Is it dangerous? Getting stung by the lionfish is a painful experience. The sting hurts as much as being stung by wasp or yellow hornet. Treatment: squeeze the blood from the penetration point. Use some winegar to wash it and apply hot and cold/ice treatment to the spot.

What does it eat? Literally, any fish and/or sea creature that it could put in its mouth.

Why is lionfish threat to our waters? It has a very negative impact on the coral reef life and income of the countries in the region.

How can I make a difference? Learn how to dive, hunt, and cook the lionfish. Support/donate/join organizations that are responding to the lionfish threat.
